Kyle Jean scored his third goal of the season. He now has six points (3g, 3a) in four games.

Christian Thomas and Chad Kolarik scored their first goals of the season.

Kris Newbury had two assists which gives him seven points (3g, 4a) in four games this season.

Chris Kreider and J.T. Miller have yet to score this year.

Video highlights...

...as I said after the first game, I'm not going to get caught up in wins and losses with the Whale because in the grand scheme of things (ie developing prospects) it doesn't matter, but a victory would be nice.

...i'd start worrying about Kreider's lack of scoring, but he's shooting the puck on goal (12 SOG this season) so you have to assume he'll start finding the back of the net eventually.

...i give Thomas a hard time on this blog, so I have to give him credit for scoring tonight. Hopefully the goal will give him a ton of confidence going forward.

...seriously, where did Kyle Jean come from and how was he not drafted? Another diamond in the rough for Gordie Clark. Although he did have a terrible giveaway on the final goal. So not all roses for Jean tonight.

i thought i read, on this blog, about a Kreider hat trick ... was that pre-season? i'm confident he'll find the back of the net and develop all aspects of his game.

@TheNYRBlog record doesn't show what they can do. Team shows great heart and grit. Upcoming team soon enough.

@NickRangers Plus they're very young, so I expected some bumps along the way this year.

@TheNYRBlog it's expected. Was there Friday in Norfolk n they fought back every sec. Fun team to watch. Just too many penalties.

@TheNYRBlog #Spackler I'm told if they lose 6 in a row they'll receive total consciousness!
