NHL Cancels Games Through November 1st

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

The NHL has announced that they have canceled games through November 1st.  A total of 135 regular-season games were scheduled for Oct. 11 through Nov. 1.

Rangers games affected:

10/25 - @ Pittsburgh

10/26 - @ Hurricanes

10/28 - @ Senators

11/1 - vs. Stars

...even while canceling games, the NHL tries to score PR points as they wipe out the schedule up to the exact date they wanted to start the 82-game schedule under their CBA proposal. Disgusting.

Sure but they aren't going to cancel before they have to. Have to leave that date open

Do the owners really think there is a such thing as winning the PR war?

NHL/owners successfully split the publics opinion with their offer. those people seem to forget the ridiculous contracts signed over the summer that the owners have zero intention of honoring. If the NHL forced this offer without a lockout I could expect the players to strike!

i'm glad that there's posititivity out there, i just wish that it could be passed on to those who need to use it.

This is now the NHLPA's fault... Theyre being stubborn if they really wanted the season they had their chance to make it happen.

i'm not sure where the anger is coming from here. they had to cancel games but left the window open for the season to start on Nov. 2. Would you rather they have cancelled all of November? lol

Honestly, I like this move. If they had cancelled more (i.e. a month like people were originally expecting), players would've assumed they didn't want to talk anymore and we could've kissed season goodbye. At least this gives some chance they talk in the next week.
