Fogarty Scores First Two NCAA Goals
Jess Rubenstein at The Prospect Park reports that Steven Fogarty (2011 - 3rd) scored his first two NCAA goals during Notre Dame's 3-2 win over Nothern Michigan...
"The goals were typical Fogarty; in the second period with the score tied at 1-1, Fogarty fired a wrist shot from the right faceoff circle that beat Northern Michigan's goalie Jared Coreau in the 5-hole to give Notre Dame a 2-1. Still in the second with the Fighting Irish on a power play, Fogarty put his 6'3 200 size to good use as he set up shop in the slot and shoved a rebound past Coreau for a 3-1 lead."
...guess trading Grachev for the third round pick that got the Rangers Fogarty is looking good right about now.
Meanwhile, Michael St. Croix scored his 100th WHL goal, a power play tally, to lead the Edmonton Oil Kings to a 5-3 victory over Rockets. St. Croix also added a power play assist and has 9g, 11a on the season.
Rubenstein adds that St. Croix is 2nd in the WHL in power play goals (7th), 5th in power play assists (9th) and 3rd overall in power play scoring 7-9-16.
...it's too bad that even if there is a season, St. Croix will likely not be called up for the abbreviated training camp. Would have liked to see what he can do against bigger and better players than he's used to.
The Rangers European prospects continue to shine as well...
Oscar Lindberg's streaking. Points in five straight games, goals in three straight road games, and 58 shots. All SEL-leading numbers. #NYR

...did I really not like the Lindberg for Werek trade when it happened? Will never doubt Gordie Clark and Anders Hedberg ever again.
Finally, Jesper Fast had a goal to lead HV71 to a 4-1 win over Modo yesterday.
