Drown Your Lockout Sorrows In $1 Hot Dogs & $2 Beers

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

Nothing I can do or say will make you feel better about the fact that the Rangers aren't playing their 2012-13 season opener in Los Angeles tonight.

But a great way to drown your sorrows is with $1 hot dogs and $2 beers (only in the first period) at the CT Whale's home opener against Bridgeport tonight at the XL Center in Hartford. Who's giving me a ride?

Nothing wrong with checking out Chris Kreider, JT Miller and the rest of the Rangers future while giving yourself a terrible case of heartburn.

Unfortunately, Wade Redden isn't playing due to the lockout, so you won't be able to pelt him with your hot dog wrapper, but it should be a fun night.

Potential Whale lines (via Blueshirts United):

Chris Kreider-Kris Newbury-Chad Kolarik
JT Miller-Kyle Jean-Andrew Yogan
Tommy Grant-Michael Haley-Christian Thomas
Brandon Segal-Kelsey Tessier-Shayne Wiebe

Jim Cerny reports that Kreider will be back to wearing #20 tonight after donning #19 all preseason. Miller, who was wearing #20, has switched to #10.

Here's Yogan on getting ready for his first full pro season (via Blueshirts United)...

I will be there tonight!! Really excited for the game. Going to be a lot of good young Ranger talent playing. Plus how can you pass up $1 hot dogs and $2 beers. Seriously.....how can you pass it up.

Guess that's better than $5 hotdogs and $8 beers at the arena?

I don't even know the words to express how much I miss hockey. Wish I could go to the game tonight but I'm hoping to get to one later in the season...
