...good, maybe his old coach can teach him the basics of getting the puck on net.
...still have to assume if/when the lockout is finished he gets signed immediately afterward. I think he'll end up losing a ton of money by not accepting the Rangers $2.5 million offer before the lockout.
In related news, Del Zotto has apparently blocked me on Twitter...
...guess he didn't like my faux recap joke about him breaking the NHL record for missing the net during a game.
Nobody held a gun to DZ's head and made him join twitter. People have to choice to open themselves up to social networking or not, and with that choice comes the opportunity for unpleasantness. He should know it's bad for his look to block people who are fans or media. Especially when it's for reasons that stem from your play and not your personal life.
So I wonder how many of you would keep people who trash you on your twitter feed? I am pretty sure just like everyone else people have blocked someone who you thought was disrespecting you.
Just because MDZ plays for the Rangers means that he has to read people trashing him. He has the same rights as the rest of you to select who he wants on his twitter feed or who he blocks.
Kevin you say you write from the heart but no offense that does not give you license to rip repeatedly on another person whether he is a Ranger or not. I like you Kevin think you are a good person at heart but you forget at times that players are people too.
Kevin," It's about giving my thoughts on the greatest team in the greatest team sport. It's not always going to be a Rangers lovefest and you're not always going to agree. But just know everything I write is from the heart and my passion for this team." Love it. Keep it up. I myself think MDZ can be a player who rises to the next level, he just needs to mature some and put some hard work in.(I don't know about his work ethic, if he does or does not work hard.) He could be a game changer when he puts everything together, if he does put everything together. O also will never forget when he laid out Neil during the playoffs. He definitely earned some respect points there. LGR!! Hope we have a season to root for.................
Did he just block you, or did he block other writers/blogs too? Could simply be looking to block exposure in his personal life. I mean, I get that he's a pro-athlete in a major market, but right now, he not only doesn't have a contract and is locked out of his job, so he's pretty much just a 22 year old guy with time on his hands.
I love that he's resorting to blocking you like 14 year old girl. Unless maybe you are sending him sexually suggestive matterial...hmm...Kevin? Haha this is so funny to me. He needs to man up a bit and stop taking things so personally. I don't think you've been that rough on him. Actually you've been pretty fair to him.
Del Zotto needs to develop thicker skn if he is going to succeed in this market. Maybe he should spend some time wth Eli?!
Scott, I hear you, but the blog has never been and will never be about journalistic credibility. It's about giving my thoughts on the greatest team in the greatest team sport. It's not always going to be a Rangers lovefest and you're not always going to agree. But just know everything I write is from the heart and my passion for this team.
I'll take your word for it. Regardless, you undermine your journalistic credibility, whatever that means in this context, by getting into public pissing matches with the players you're ostensibly covering.
Can't post everything that's going on at once. All that will be covered thoughout the day. Plus I had my snarky MDZ comment written before I knew he blocked me.
MDZ is over-rated. I know he hasn't been in league very long but he doesn't look like the answer to QB on PP and not exactly a physical presence. I hope Sather doesn't pay him a ton when the lockout ends.
I just lost all respect for you Kevin. Rumors of NHL replacement players, ESPN signs deal to air KHL games, and you run snark because MDZ blocked you on Twitter. Grow up.
Take a joke, dummy. He should be languishing in Columbus with Dubi, build some humility and character.
@TheProspectpark I hear you Jess, but when you put yourself in the public eye you open yourself up to criticism. It's the nature of the beast and these guys know that going in. I get called tons of names on Twitter and just laugh it off.
@BuckarooClub I heard he's blocked a lot of fans. Other blogs have not been blocked.
@GraigGiuliani i personally like dz and i'm not as critical as most fans are on him, but he's a 22 year old professional hockey player playing in the biggest sports market in NA, he needs to start maturing and quit acting (on and off the ice) like he's still playing in juniors in oshawa.
@AnnoyingJoe Nah....We'll take him in Montreal anytime! 3M$/yr,cool?
You owe us...We are still paying Gomez 8M$/yr for god sake...
@AnnoyingJoe So sensitive these hockey players.
