"Had some chances, shot the puck. Had a couple of really good chances in there. Just didn't go in. But it's been much better the last few."
The Rangers haven't scored a power play goal since February 24th against the Islanders and are 0 for 18 in that span.
...has the power play gotten so bad that Torts is happy with moral victories?
...i'm sorry, you can't say the power play has been "much better" until after they score a couple. Hell, at least wait for them to score even one.
...there is more than enough firepower on the power play so there is no excuse for it to be this dreadful. I've said this for over a year now, get Brian Boyle's big body in front of the net and start firing away from the point. Fixed!
...at least the Rangers play the Islanders tomorrow, who apparently are the only team they can score a power play goal against.
The coaching(not just Tortorella) is to blame for the PP woes; in my opinion.
They are f'n stiff out there! Theres little, sometimes no movement. We know they are reviewing video of every Power Play, but what the hell are they seeing? Maybe it's time they look at some video of an EFFECTIVE power play.
I don't really care where they finish as long as they do well in the playoffs. Woud rather not see them play the Caps in the first round and I think the Caps are going to get in.
If Torts is suggesting that the PP is improving because the guys are finally moving their skates just a bit, I would agree. Otherwise, it still sucks... big time!
Put Hagelin on the PP and things will improve. Why is Torts such a complete jackass JERK about this?
@TheNYRBlog Ironically with this "better" power play, they stopped winning. Go back to sucking. #whereskreider
It's like they forget how to pass on the pp. I was just watching the bruins game from last Sunday and on the one pp there was not one crisp pass when it counted. Richards had the goal on one play if someone just hit him on the tape but instead the put it off his skates.
@TheNYRBlog we also score pp goals against the Flyers.Rangers prbly hate being on the pp .Defnitely not a man advantage.
Love the idea of getting a big body in front.
How about a litte movement?! Why is everyone content just standing around?
@TheNYRBlog "consistently" score goals is what you mean. Their whole PP structure is terrible and that's why they can't score.
@Robby Bonfire He absolutely deserves lion's share of the blame for the power play woes.
