...the Rangers interest in Nash will have everything to do with how well they perform in the playoffs. If the Rangers collapse down the stretch and end up a first round casualty then you can be assured that no matter how unhappy Sather was with negotiations he'll be knocking on Howson's door this off-season.
...conversely if the Rangers make a long run, Sather will likely stay the course and develop the young core that will get even younger next year will players like Kreider and Erixon joining the mix.
I'm on the Parise bandwagon as well...but if worse comes to worse, I would skip calling Howson and call the Blue Jackets owner directly and tell him I refuse to talk to Howson.
What's funny is Howson won't get even close to the same offers come the off-season. That man is full on fail and I doubt will be a GM in this league for much longer.
Too late ... from this point on into the playoffs it only gets tougher, having a strong defense is all well and good but you cant beat anyone 0-0
