Avery Left Off Whale Playoff Roster
Written by Kevin DeLury on .
Greg Wyshynski at Puck Daddy reports that the CT Whale have left Sean Avery off their 22-man Clear Day roster meaning he will not be eligible to play for the remainer of the season or the playoffs.Avery has played just five games since being waived and assigned to the Whale in December.
...no surprise here, this is just icing on the poop flavored cake for Avery.
...reports had the Calgary Flames and Florida Panthers interested in Avery at the trade deadline so I think he'll end up in a pro camp next season. It will be up to him whether he wants to continue to play hockey or become a New York socialite.
Wesley Morris has more on Avery over at Grantland.

I'm not gonna jump ship or anything, I still love my Rangers, but I'll buy an Avery jersey for wherever he lands. I definitely miss him.

Those of you who think this is all a grudge that Torts had because of his slopppy seconds comment 3 years ago could not be more wrong (unless Elisha Cuthbert is actually Torts' daughter). Something serious happened here between Avery and Management and/or the Rangers organization. Maybe it will come out some day. I'm sure it will make its rounds in the GM circles so I would be surprised if Avery's boss next year is anyone other than Anna Wintour.
Agrred Gravy,I too believe that something had happenned between Avery and management. Torts. does not yield enough power to single handedly blackball Avery.
While I liked Avery I do think that the team is better off without him and as far as I'm concerned, the saga of Avery as a NY Ranger is now over.
For me anyway.

@TheNYRBlog @CTWhale Avery made his own bed. He still deserved a shot somewhere. Let's see if he really changed his ways. We'll see in Oct.
@TheNYRBlog There has to be a lot more to this story that might come out after he's gone. His behavior must have been piss poor
@TheNYRBlog @CTWhale I thought this personal vendetta sort of a thing didn't happen in professionals sports...
