The Rick Nash Trade List; And Other Evening Links

Written by Adam Herman on .

The Rangers confirmed the signing of center Jeff Halpern today, who will join Arron Asham and Michael Haley as replacements for Ruslan Fedotenko, Brandon Prust, and John Mitchell. It is possible that Glen Sather is not done wheeling and dealing, but we do have a better picture, I think, of how our bottom two lines will look. I think it's a general consensus that keeping Prust would have been nice. But given the economics and the hand Sather was dealt, I think he did a decent job in replacing the departing bodies. Coincidentally, the Victoria Royals, previously known as the Chilliwack Bruins, were at one point partially owned by Glen Sather himself. [Vancouver Sun]

I think it's more accurate to view Taylor Pyatt over Haley as one of the three replacements for Prust, Feds, and Mitchell. Haley's likely going to start out in Hartford and come in to replace Asham or Rupp if necessary.
