Shane Doan Offered 4 Years, $30 Million by a Team in the East?
According to John Gambadoro, a sports talk radio show host on Sports 620 KTAR Phoenix, Arizona who cites an NHL source who confirmed the report, free agent and former Phoenix Coyote Shane Doan has received a substantial offer from a team in the Eastern Conference.
It was reported several days ago the New York Rangers, among several teams, would be making a pitch to Shane Doan.
Doan, 35, finished the 2011-12 season with 50 points (22 goals, 28 assists) and lead his team to the Western Conference Finals, losing to the eventual Cup winning Los Angeles Kings.NHL source just confirmed to me that an Eastern Conference team has offered Coyotes Captain Shane Doan a 4-year deal worth more than 30 mill

- Four years and $30 plus million?!?!?!?!? That's a $7.5 million cap hit per season! Is Mike Milbury running the Islanders again?? In all seriousness, if, and its a big IF because no one other than Gambadoro has come out to confirm, this report is true, how can Doan NOT accept? I pray this isn't the old Slats coming out, I just defended him the other day!
