Miller Heating Up Again; Thomas Gets Honorable Mention; Kreider Dominates

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

miller9Jess Rubenstein at The Prospect Park reports that after starting the month of January with just one point in seven games, J.T. Miller (2011 - 1st) now has nine points (6g, 3a) in his last four after scoring two goals Sunday night during the Plymouth Whalers 4-3 shootout win.

Miller now has 19g, 30a on the season.

...Miller started the season on such a roll, you had to assume he was going to hit a lull at some point. Being able to fight your way out of that funk is what separates a real NHL prospect from the wannabes. So seeing Miller be able to turn it around has me even more excited about his future with the Rangers.

Rubenstein also notes that in a battle of 2010 picks, Christian Thomas' (2010 - 2nd) Oshawa Generals defeated Andrew Yogan's (2010 - 4th) Peterborough Pete's by the score of 5-2.

Thomas' 1g, 2a effort earned him an "Honorable Mention" over at Buzzing the Net.

Yogan had both Pete goals in defeat.

Finally, Rubestein says Chris Kreider's dominating home-and-home weekend series (2g, 3a) against New Hampshire helped him reach a new career high in goals with 16.

For his efforts, Kreider, who has 16g, 14a on the season, earned a share of Hockey East Player of the Week honors.

...i don't want to look past what could be an amazing run by this Rangers team this season, but can you imagine the young talent that is going to be in camp next year. I have a huge smile on my face just thinking about it.
