How Bout Rangers/Leafs Winter Classic?
Lots of 2012 Winter Classic senarios being thrown around lately. Here's the latest from Jeff Klein at Slap Shots that includes the Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs..."Rangers at Leafs, Rogers Centre, roof open, CN Tower looming overhead, day or night. The biggest city in the United States vs. the biggest city in Canada, staged at the biggest site in what is the de facto world capital of hockey."
Klein adds that a Winter Classic won't work in New York because Yankee Stadium is booked up with an inconsequential college football bowl game, the New Meadowlands Stadium is in New Jersey and Citi Field is a stadium with negligible cachet.
...that would be one sick road trip Ranger fans. NHL would never hold a Winter Classic in Canada due to ratings.
