Del Zotto a Comeback Player of 2011-12
Adam Proteau at The Hockey News lists his top 10 comeback players of the 2011-12 season with Michael Del Zotto landing at #4...4. Michael Del Zotto, D, Rangers.
Following a banner rookie season, Del Zotto's game collapsed and he was banished to the American League for a spell. This season, he's the Rangers' leading point-producing defenseman (23 points) and their top plus-minus man (plus-22). And he's still just 21 years old.
...the best part of Proteau's analysis is that Del Zotto is just 21. He's been through more in his first three seasons than some players have their entire careers. So while it's not always perfect from Del Zotto on the defensive end and he still has a lot to learn about running the point on the power play, we should all feel very confident that Del Zotto will be able to tackle whatever obstacles come his way.
