Despite Steve Eminger's return to the line-up last night, Steve Zipay at Newsday says John Tortorella would like Stu Bickel to stay with the Rangers..."Business and all the other stuff aside, I want to continue working with him. He's a work in progress as far as moving the puck and understanding our coverages . . . [but] I love his willingness."
Bickel, who makes $600,000, would have to clear through waivers before being assigned to the CT Whale.
...it makes complete sense to keep Bickel on the NHL roster as his toughness will be needed starting tomorrow night in Philly.
...although if he can't cut down on the penalties, it will be impossible for Tortorella to play him against the more offensively talented teams.
