Penguins 4, Rangers 3, SO

The New York Rangers (29-20-4) lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins (32-15-4) by the score of 4-3 in a shootout, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.
...hate to leave points on the table against a Pens team that was playing without a center and two of the best players in the league. Callahan, Stepan and Anisimov all not cashing in on wide open opportunities in front didn't help.
...not sure why our shootout specialists decided to change strategy tonight. Having said that Fleury was pretty good.
...speaking of shootouts, I guess we can officially say Torts made the right decision going with Jokinen over Gaborik last season.
...Callahan and Dubinsky both return without missing a beat. Seeing Callahan being Callahan again really makes you realize how much the Rangers missed him.
...while Prust had another strong game (1g, +1), I thought his fight with Engelland was ill-advised and seemed to swing momentum over to the Pens. First rule of fighting is never do it when you have the other team down. Prust should know better.
...nice to see Del Zotto get a power play point, not so nice seeing him get beat by Rupp.
...thought Rangers missed Eminger's toughness in front of Hank tonight. Expect him back in the lineup Thursday night, with maybe Gilroy out.
...Rangers need to realize Hank is going to stop anything from 10 feet out and get their sticks out of the way.
...Newbury glued to the bench after elbowing penalty led to Pens second goal. Ended the game with just 4:58 of ice time.
...Rangers faceoff success (38-for-63) technically doesn't count since the Pens played almost the entire game without a natural centerman.
...off tomorrow then Devils in town on Thursday.
