Linsanity Key to Ending Time Warner/MSG Dispute

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

linBob Raissman at the Daily News reports that the phenomenon that is Jeremy Lin may be the key to getting MSG Network back on Time Warner...

"He might just change this whole cable equation. Lin, the point guard who seemingly fell from the sky through the Garden's signature ceiling, might just turn out to be the man who single-handedly gets the TWC cable deal done."

Raissman says the demand for Lin may push customers who weren't critical of Time Warner in this dispute to start putting pressure on the cable provider.

Raissman adds that MSG would be smart to take advantage of this opportunity before Lin's magic possibly disappears.

...amazing that missing out on the second best team in hockey isn't a big enough incentive for Time Warner customers. Whatever, don't care what it takes to get a deal done as long as Rangers fans can get their Blueshirts sooner rather than later.

By the way, I get Linsanity, I really do but how can the Daily News not even have a partial headline on the Sports back page about the Ranger win yesterday afternoon?? I mean, they even put a reference to Phil Mickelson @ Pro-Am!!!Is hockey that insignificant in New York?

Won't happen. Dolan's a dick for trying to pay for the renovation by jacking cable prices. Even if TWC picks MSG back up, I'll still refuse to pay a higher rate for it.

Ugh don't get me started on this b.s. Rangers are the BEST team in the East and top three in the entire league, no question...and it takes one dude on a really crappy Knicks team to "turn things around"...goodbye any hope for back page cover now the Knicks won a FEW games.

@_Jack Add pitchers and catchers reporting in a week and the Rangers won't see the back page unless they win the Cup.

@KevinDeLury I gave up looking at the back page for a Rangers photo/feature YEARS ago, but I had a crazy notion maybe this year they'd get more press (save for Brooks' "next big blue" article spread, that was great).
