Last night, Christian Thomas scored his seventh goal of the season on a bomb from the point on the power play during the Whale's 4-3 loss to Albany (2:43 mark)...
Thomas' seven goals is tied for third on the team. He also has five assists.
...as I'm sure everyone who reads this blog knows, I've been down on Thomas because of his size. But he's starting to prove to me that if you're a pure goal scorer and work hard enough, you're going to excel at every level no matter how small in stature you are.
Chris Kreider's pointless streak reached 10 games as he was once again held off the score sheet. He is also a -3 in the last five games.
...hoping Kreider's scoring troubles are attributed to him working on other parts of his game. Similar to a pitcher working on new pitches during spring training. Really doesn't matter if he's struggling now as long as it doesn't continue when the real season begins.
Don't know for sure if Kreider is working on other parts of his game but look at #28 on this list (probably need to start at #26 to understand what he is listing): http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/opinion/2012/12/30-thoughts-nhl-players-could-turn-to-nba-lockout-fixer.html
