Rangers European Prospects Continue to Impress

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

Lindberg, who the Rangers obtained in a trade for Ethan Werek, has 12g, 19a in 34 games this season, while Fasth (2010 - 6th round) has 10g, 8a in 26.

Nunn adds that he firmly believes Lindberg will be on the Rangers roster for opening day 2013-14 due to his defensive game, consistency on faceoffs and solid offense.

...got to love how well these two are playing right now, but I'm not so sure I agree with Nunn on his Lindberg prediction. I've seen way too many "solid" European prospects come to the NHL and disappoint immediately. Game is usually way more physical then they're used to and the smaller ice surface is a major adjustment. If nothing else, I'd say he needs a year with the Whale to acclimate himself to the North American game.

@TheNYRBlog Can't blame you for being hesitant at all Kevin! Don't think he'd need a full year w/ the Whale if Rangers go that route though.

@aj_ranger Hope you're right, because he looks like a hell of a player.

@tomcat1075 Hagelin also played at Michigan and learned North American game. These two would come to camp w/o that experience.

@TheNYRBlog especially if they play this year..no time to develop with the big club!
