Darren Dreger at TSN reports that the NHL will cancel games through December 30th today.
Chris Botta at the Business Sports Journal adds that this likely means if there is an NHL season it will be no longer than 48 games similar to the 1994-95 lockout.
...this piecemeal approach of canceling games has me dying inside a little bit every month. I wish they would just cancel the entire season and put me out of my misery.
As we await further game cancellations today, thru end of Dec., an exec tells me: "We're not close. We do not trust this group."— Mark Spector Sports (@SportsnetSpec) December 10, 2012
They all need to get a grip. Enough already. Just think of all the people they have put out of work.
Don't forget, the 04/05 season wasn't officially canceled until that February. They are going to drag out these cancellations until they make a deal, or there isn't enough games left to make a season worthwhile.
@TheNYRBlog just cancel it all or drop the puck stop doing this to the fans. @NHL is just a disgrace or an organization now
@TheNYRBlog and if there is a shortened season and if they play harder without care i expect more than normal injuries!
@TheNYRBlog why? i hope there isnt a season...why? its going to a be fast sprint to the finals and the teams will be play harder than ever
@TheNYRBlog even with a deal last week, they still had to cancel just about all of those anyway.they couldn't have played on the 16th
