NHL Cancels Games Through January 14

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

The NHL has announced  the cancellation of the 2012-13 regular-season schedule through January 14.

A total of 625 regular-season games—50.8 percent of the season—were scheduled for October 11 through January 14.

...it's not like this cancellation is unexpected or matters. At this point an entirely new schedule would be needed anyway, so who cares.

Dear WHA,

We welcome you back. Please get it right this time.

Kevin, thank you for coming back during, what ended up being, a difficult, hockey-less time. After the big deals early in the summer, it spiraled down into the lockout, followed by the strained tone of its proceedings. At least there's some good news about some of the young guys. I'll be glad to see new evidence of Kreider's growth and progress. Thanks to you I remain a little more plugged-in than I might've been, and I appreciate it.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours
