Lockout Is About Nothing More than Greed
We already know that the reason for the lockout on the owner's side has everything to do with greed. Why else would they blow-up this season for a bigger piece of the hockey related revenue pie, when the league has seen record growth since the 2004-05 lockout.
But for those of you who still think the players are the victims, check this out...
From deep inside players side: "We were ready to play again. But Don came in (Wed.) and told us we could get more and to hold out"
— adater (@adater) December 7, 2012
...while these billionaires and millionaires are holding out for more, the concession sales guy or NHL staffer who can barely provide for their family is still either being laid off or having their pay cut. Disgusting.
...and to me that's all this comes down to. Just get it done. People's livelihoods depend on it. I could care less what is in the new CBA or what piece the two sides are now arguing about. It's just so convoluted and to be honest doesn't have a direct affect on me. What does, is these guys not playing. Both the owners and players are so worried about who's going to lose in the negotiations, they're not realizing the only real losers here are those who truly love this game.
