Here's video of Kreider goal (1:23 mark)...
Whale Goal!!! Scored by Chris Kreider assists to Kyle Jean and Blake Parlett time of the goal 4:46 #bleedgreen— CTWhale (@CTWhale) December 22, 2012
Last night in the Connecticut Whale's 5-2 win over the Manchester Monarchs, Chris Kreider made his first offensive contribution in nearly a month. Kreider scored at 4:46 of the third period to provide the insurance goal en route to securing the win. Kreider's goal was his first point since November 23rd when he had two goals against Bridgeport.
I don't think Ranger fans should be overly concerned about their prized prospect and his struggles to date. Kreider only has 5 goals and 11 points in a season where many assumed he was a safe bet to be a 30 goal scorer in the minors based on his offensive production for the Rangers last spring. On the flip side, Kreider could simply be working on other aspects of his game at the professional level especially on the defensive side of the puck. Kreider was used very heavily on the PK in college which spoke to his abilities as a two-way forward. If Kreider is going through a "sophmore slump" he picked a perfect time for one.
