Shane Doan To Sign Before September 15?
It seems all along, free agent Shane Doan has waited to sign a new deal so Greg Jamison can secure ownership with the Phoenix Coyotes and Doan can stay with the only franchise he's ever played for.
Today, Sarah McLellan of azcentral sports writes how Doan will be signing a new deal before the September 15 expiration of the current CBA in order to have a contract before a new labor deal is in place.
Whether it's with Phoenix or another team.
"Shane is going to sign a contract before the CBA expires on the 15th," said Doan's agent, Terry Bross. "(Ownership has to) be done before the 15th, otherwise we're signing somewhere because we don't know what the new CBA is going to look like, and I don't know if it's going to limit any scope of a contract, so we want to make sure we sign before then.

- At least we'll have some finality to the outrageous Doan rumors we've dealt with all summer long. If Doan is willing to wait that long to sign, he's going back to Phoenix. Sounds like Jamison is inching closer to buying the team.
