Rangers Will Loan Miller to Team USA for WJC if in AHL

millerusa2There have been questions about whether the Rangers would still loan 2011 first round pick J.T. Miller to Team USA for the World Junior Championships in December if he began the season with the CT Whale.

Well, Jim Cerny gives us the answer during yesterday's live chat at Blueshirts United...

"Most definitely YES! Rangers are firm believers in putting your top prospects in big-time situations, which the WJC is...and Milelr (sp) likely will be a Top 6 forward if he plays for Team USA...experience would be so valuable for him...so my answer is YES...though final decision goes to Mr. Sather/Gorton/etc!!!"

...great to hear that the Rangers will give Miller the chance to represent his country. In my opinion, it can only be beneficial to his development.

...my one concern would be if Miller is in a good groove with the Whale and he's asked to play different role with Team USA that it might mess with his game when he gets back.

...all this is moot, however, as Miller is making the Rangers out of training camp.
