Callahan Has 2nd Most Sold Jersey on Shop NHL
Nirva Milord, NHL Director of Entertainment Publicity, reports that Ryan Callahan has the second most sold jersey on shop.nhl.com.Zach Parise currently has the top selling jersey, while Callahan's teammates Rick Nash (#14) and Henrik Lundqvist (#15) are in the Top 20.

...no disrespect to Callahan, because I absolutely love the guy, but I'm in shock that his jersey is #2. You'd think it would go to the more popular players like Crosby, Malkin or Ovechkin. Guess I don't give the hockey fan enough credit. Or there are just so many God damn people who live in New York the numbers are in his favor. Either way, pretty awesome to see.

I'm a little suprised he's in second, too, but I agree with Chris, I think anyone who feels the need to buy a Crosby/Malkin/Ovechkin jersey already has it.
Speaking of jerseys, has anyone bought one off of NHL.com?I read some reviews that the $150-170 versions are iron-on names and numbers. Is that true? I found sewn-on options at hockeymonkey.com, but they're always sold out of L and XL Ranger Jerseys.
I'm way too reluctant to buy from one of those Chinese websites that sell jerseys for $50 bucks...
I'm totally NOT surprised! In my opinion, you need to think like a kid on this one. It's not just adults who buy jerseys & attend games. I think the "honor" of wearing the captain's "C" is as important a detail as you can get, in the mind of a child. It may or may not have anything to do with the player's stats - the kids look up to the team captain! I know that this rationale is a huge part of why my 10YO son calls Captain Cally his favorite NYR, and why we purchased him a Cally jersey @ShopNHL.com
Thats just for the month of July. The people that are going to buy Crosby/Ovechkin/Malkin jerseys already have them.
Callahan, I think, garnered a LOT of additional attention/praise from true fans thanks to 24/7 and leading the Rangers to the ECF this year. Kinda surprised that LQ is that high, honestly... and not shocked at all that Nash is on the list.
@Chris_in_MA Still, Callahan seems like such an under the radar guy that his jersey wouldn't sell well outside of New York market.
@KevinDeLury @Chris_in_MA The shiny new C on his jersey has definitely helped as well as his play this season proving he deserved it. I say this as someone who finally broke down and paid full price for a jersey just to get a Captain Cally
