Brian Boyle Talks Possible NHL Lockout
Mike Loftus of The Patriot Ledger recently caught up with Brian Boyle to talk about the possible work stoppage heading into the 2012-13 season.
“It’s not necessarily ‘Oh, a cancelled meeting – this is bad,’” he said. “Maybe some things came up at the table and they said ‘OK, we’re going to go back and discuss that; we hadn’t thought of it that way.’ You never know what’s actually going in there, from the outside.
“We’re training like it’s going to happen right away,” Boyle said. “Training camps start a little late this year, so I’m planning to leave about a week into September, go from there, and hope for the best.”

“You can’t just look at the cancelled meetings, the bickering and arguing back and forth. That’s part of the process. We’ve been told to expect that.”
Despite the pessimism getting a deal done on time, Boyle is still preparing for training camp.“We’re training like it’s going to happen right away,” Boyle said. “Training camps start a little late this year, so I’m planning to leave about a week into September, go from there, and hope for the best.”
- Boyle is taking the fan's approach: hope for the best. That's all we can do at the moment, despite the grim outlook.
