Avery to Be Put on Recall Waivers (Confirmed)

Greg Wyshynski at Puck Daddy had posted this about what would happen capwise if Avery was claimed by another team on re-entry waivers...
"If Avery were claimed on re-entry waivers, his salary would be paid by and count against three teams' caps with this breakdown: Dallas 50 percent, Rangers 25 percent, New Team 25 percent."

Larry Brooks confirms that Avery will be put on re-entry waivers tomorrow.

Andrew Gross reports that it's not out of realm of possibility Rangers will announce another transaction later today.

Avery has to clear re-entry waivers before he can report to the Rangers so no matter what he wouldn't be back for tomorrow's game against Sharks. Which could be why Deveaux was recalled and will most likely be sent back down after game if Avery clears. I'm getting excited!!!

About damn time! Torts is a jackass for sending him down. He thinks he is the moral compass of the NHL.
If avery plays for another eastern conference team - Torts is gone if the Rangers don't win a playoff series. If Torts gets avery back he better apologize to him. Torts would be lucky to have a guy like avery play hard for him. I would have loved to have him in the third period of the last game.

I did fully supported waiving Avery, but this team needs a spark, badly...Avery-Boyle-Prust is a solid 4th line and Avery will be sure to bring his A-game for the remainder of the season.

There are Avery haters, and Avery lovers! Personally, even at some of our worst times, he adds a "spark". We need someone to keep our "Broadway Bullies" moniker going, especially since Boogaard's injuries and subsequent passing. Not to mention, that without Staal, we've been a bit lackluster. Oh, but that's right, he's not Crosby so the NHL doesn't bring it up. Although, glad I missed those Staal family dinners this summer!
Their record without Avery in the lineup speaks for itself. I'm sure the Hierarchy knows that.
Thrilled for the return of Sean Avery. Hopefully he will inject some passion into this team. Does anyone else get the impression that it is going to be a long and very emotional season for the fans?
@AaronSweet @Erin M @CJ I don't think it prevents that, but it means the aren't putting him on waivers to use him in some deal.

Good. I'm still hoping they Fire Tortorella. He's still a bad coach. this doesn't change that. Not to mention this was 100% a decision by Sather and not Torts. Let's hope Torts actually uses him the right way.
@YesIAm Torts is so full of himself and his defensive boring POS system. If I was coach and had Biron and The King as my goalies I would play the most offensive hockey I could. He runs scared all the time, not understanding that his goalies will win every game if they are just given the chance
