Concussion for Thomas?

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

thomas2Christian Thomas did not have the Traverse City Tournament we all expected and he followed it up with a less than spectacular showing during Rangers training camp. Now he's started the season with a four game pointless streak for the Oshawa Generals and Jess Rubenstein at The Prospect Park has some ideas why...

"Traverse City did not go well for Thomas and we kind of suspect that he may have suffered a minor concussion in the Traverse City final. Thomas took a elbow to the head early in that game and barely was a factor after that.

Despite being 5'9 Thomas has a lot of weight on his shoulders from having to be the man for the Generals, to trying to repeat his numbers from last season and on and on. Right now Christian Thomas we wonder is suffering from "Training Camp Hangover" and if he is then we say relax Christian things will be alright."

...i'm glad to hear Jess say this regarding the concussion because I was thinking the same thing during training camp. He was run over in that final game at Traverse and he has been invisible since. I hope Rubenstein is wrong, but what I hope even more is if Thomas is still feeling some effects from the hit he tells someone and he tells them soon. He has to look no further than what's going on with Marc Staal to see how serious these head injuries are.

That hit happened about 10' from where I was sitting and its was pretty brutal. To rule out a concussion or some other injury as a result of that hit would make me question the doctors and training staff.

@naughtydog95 This is the first time I've seen someone even mention it. The problem with the head injuries is that if Thomas is saying he's fine the doctors may not do additional testing.
