It doesn't sound like Glen Sather will oblige...
"Why would we agree to anything like that?" is how Sather phrased it in an email response to the Post's inquiry whether the club would set the Hobbit free. "There's no such agreement."
...i get the guy is frustrated, but he signed a contract, so he should man up, fulfill that contract and finish the year in either Connecticut or with the Rangers.
Let him return to the swedish elite league. Noone in NHL have the brain to undertand how big this guy is. Look at both Mats Naslund and Hakan Loob when they played in NHL. Small scandinavians who ruled the rinks all over. This is noy a sensation that small guys are nonrated high in the NHL league. Why bother to drag them there??
I think we've seen what happens to disgruntled players in Hartford. I wonder how high the pick will be that Sather gets for him.
i get it that he is unhappy but he is there for a reason. he is too small for the NHL and it seems like hes maybe too small for the AHL too. did he expect his success on larger ice surfaces in a less physical game (compared to the NHL) to translate? im not sure what he was expecting... top line minutes with gabby? i know he has a lot of fans out there too but he is just too damn small. not everyone that size can be a marty st louis. finish out the year playing "stress free" hockey for $850,000 and then scope out your options.
@IcyCup I wouldn't say he's to small for the AHL; After MZA got sent down to the Whale, both JAM and Mitchell has started getting a PPG/A +, and Hagelin is only one pt away, all of them has been getting at least a couple of Assists from him, he makes the Whale better as a team.
Most of the rumors stem from his european agent that wants him to come back to europe, so he can make money off him again.
