Why the Rangers Can't Trade Gaborik

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

gabbynoIn Jesse Spector's offseason review of each Ranger player at The Blueshirts Blog he says this to those fans who think the Blueshirts should trade Marian Gaborik...

"All of that is why many observers believe that Gaborik and Tortorella cannot coexist, and the Rangers should trade the 29-year-old away. Those who make such an argument apparently find it easy to ignore the 42 goals that Gaborik scored for a Tortorella-coached team in 2009-10, not to mention the winger's no-trade clause and the fact that his value on the market after a disappointing season is disproportionally low."

...got to agree 100% with Spector here. Gabby is just ONE season removed from a 42 goal campaign!!!! And people want to trade this guy? Also, you know if the Rangers trade him he's guaranteed to have a least a 35 goal season.

...it also doesn't make much sense to trade away Gabby when they plan on bringing Richards in. Who exactly do you expect Richards to be passing to?

Good point that the Rangers do not need to trade Gaborik...they need world class players; and talent wise who would replace Gabby?
You want to get Jagr? Not a good thought. We need younger stars like Richards and not older ones...

People are so dumb who want gabby gone. One bad season. First line next year dubi richards gabby. Second line anisimov cally stepan. Were good to go.

@KingBadaBing agreed....i've said it all along...the only way the rangers will be serious contenders is if we have that 1-2 punch...and thats exactly what you get with gabby and richards...not to mention hank between the pipes
