"After earning John Tortorella's praise with a solid 28-point rookie season, Artem Anisimov, 22, played a much larger role with the Rangers in 2010-11. As a result, Anisimov's offensive numbers improved dramatically---while his defensive play remained a strong suit. Anisimov established new career-highs in goals (18), assists (26), and points (44), and showed excellent consistency by scoring 21 points in the first 41 games and 23 in the final 41."
Anisimov is an RFA this offseason.
...i'd be shocked if Anisimov isn't re-signed. Thinking maybe a three-year, $1.2 million per year deal.
...i've always been down on Anisimov for his lack of toughness and aggressiveness, but what I need to remember is the guy is only 22-years-old and his offensive numbers improved drastically from his rookie season. He also showed some nice chemistry with Cally and Dubi
...if he can add some much needed muscle this offseason he could be in line for a breakout year.
Speaking of Callahan, Jesse Spector at the Blueshirts Blog takes an in-depth look at his 2010-11 season.
Anisimiov is a great young player and the Rangers need him. He does need to get better ans stronger.
Think Anisimov will eventually be a 25-30 goal scorer a season. Next year I bet my buddy (An ignorant Devils fan of course) he gets to the 25 goal plateau. Ehh maybe i'm too optimistic but he definitely can do it.
@KingBadaBing I agree. He has the talent just needs to strengthen up.
