...i've said it the last few days. I fully expect Avery to be the healthy scratch tomorrow despite him leading the team with .027 assists per minute played (thanks to TheNYRBlog reader Andy B. for that stat). Yes the Rangers biggest playmaker is averging jless than 10 minutes a game lately. Nice.
Henirk Lundqvist on possibly dropping to 9th if Hurricanes win tonight...
"With all those games in hand, we never felt really safe...Hasn't felt like we were up by three or four points. So you don't change your mindset (tomrow). We still need wins."
John Tortorella on where the team stands...
"this is a different team from last year, but we are in the same spot...I have confidence in the club"
...back in December I never would have thought the Rangers would be fighting for their playoff lives. I guess that's hickey for ya. Not sure why but I still have confidence this team will get into the playoffs.
Here's a pic of Marian Gaborik signing autographs after practice today...
...love that the Rangers tweet this out to seem fan friendly on same day they raise season ticket prices 23%.
Can anyone explain what Fedetenko has done to stay in the lineup? Doesn't it make more sense to keep Avery with Boyle and Prust and put Fedetenko up in the box? I know Torts hates Avery and Fedetenko is one of "his guys" but I think it's ridiculous to see Avery scratched.
i love the job torts has done here and he gets an A for that, but he gets an emphatic F on his handeling of avery. from his comments at TSN to him benching him game 5 vs. washington he has really limited averys ability to be himself and help this team win
@_Jack Don't need a call-up. EC would go in. Just a hunch nothing more.
