"That's not us," said Brian Boyle. "We are not a team that fails to come to work. But last night was not our best effort. And we have to make sure that mentally we do all the right things to prepare."
...one thing we've been able to count on with this team all year is their work ethic. But Wednesday they really let us and themselves down with that effort. Maybe the laid back California lifestyle got to them.
...having said that, I'll chalk it up as a bad night and fully expect a much better effort tomorrow in San Jose.
Speaking of Boyle, The Hockey News calls his goal scoring this season a top 10 surprise.
Didn't they fly out Sunday night after the Flyers game? That's all the time you need to adjust, especially for a bunch of kids. They were on California time for the Anaheim game. At worst it would have been like starting an hour late for some of them. That wasn't the problem.
I think it was the time of the game that made them feel sleepy... I know I wouldn't be 100% if I had to play when it's supposed to be night...
With the Sabres taking over 7th place the Rangers need to show up, big time, from here on out. Actually, they needed to show up that way in Anaheim, I don't understand what happened...
@AG_Blue Maybe b/c they were hanging out in Cali for a couple of days they thought they were on vaca instead of being there to do a job.
@KevinDeLury That could be -- especially dealing with a bunch of kids; it's gotta be tough to keep 'em reigned-in. While Tortorella was sleeping . . . who knows?
