Richards Signs Contract at Dolan's 4th of July Party

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

New York Post's Page Six reports Brad Richards signed his nine-year, $60 million contract with the Rangers in plain view of other guests at team owner Jim Dolan's Oyster Bay, LI, estate during an Indepedence Day party last week.

Glen Sather pulled Richards aside at the barbecue to sign the papers, while Sean Avery was standing nearby...

"He just sat down and signed on the dotted line on a table outside," a spy said.

...i think it's pretty safe to say Richards probably wouldn't have signed his contract during a phat party up in Toronto.

...hope Richards doesn't think it's all party time around here. Too many free agents have fallen into that trap.

"A spy said". They make this seem so cryptic.

Kinda telling that Avery was at Sather's 4th of July party, no? Perhaps he will get a shot at top line duty.

@gravey94 While I'm still a fan of putting Wolski on that lline I'd be down with Avery. Although he may have problems even making the team.
