Rangers Re-Sign Eminger

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

eminger3The Rangers have announced that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Steve Eminger on a new contract.

Eminger, 27, skated in 65 games with the Rangers last season, registering two goals and four assists, along with 22 penalty minutes.

Larry Brooks tweets that the contract is for one-year, $800,000.

...was very happy with Eminger last season and he will again be counted on as a veteran presence and to provide stability on the blueline.

...while I'm not 100% on board with the Richards signing, I must say that Sather is having a great off-season. Just need to sign Callahan to cap it off.

Christensen will be moved. Don't think the team needs much cap space coming out of camp because they are a deep team now I see a lot of two way contracts going back and forth to Hartford this year.

Happy. I have to say, this roster looks better every time I look at it.

Nice. As long as he plays with grit and keeps throwing those cross-checks and elbows I say this is a good signing.

I'm assuming that they are close to signing cally if they are signing Eminger now. I must say, I really wanted to see what Pashnin could do, but our d-corps is still very young, and eminger is reliable.

...and According to Capgeek, we have about $4.9mil left to take care of Cali.

@CJ Rangers cutting it close to the cap. I hate to say it but Wolski might have to be bought out.

Is that $4.9M with or without Redden? Should be OK if it's the summer cap, especially if Cally's deal is structured like Dubinsky's.

@gravey94 @CJ The figure doesn't include Redden, but also does not include MDZ, who is scheduled to make about $1.1M.

@KevinDeLury yeah, a little breathing room would be nice, and EC, Wooly and Aves are your movable pieces.

@CJ @KevinDeLury I wouldn't count on moving Avery. He has an NTC which isn't the strickest out there, but also not the easiest to deal with. Especially since he is a special type of player, I mean you have to really WANT Avery.
