The New York Rangers (27-18-3) defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs (18-22-5) by the score of 3-2, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.
...you just have to be so impressed with the resiliency of this team. No Dubinksy, no problem. Fedotenko goes down in the middle of the game, no worries. If Torts isn't the front runner for coach of the year I might have to stop watching hockey. Nah, I'd never do that.
...who would have thought putting Avery back on a line with Gaborik would jump start the Rangers sniper? Oh wait, that would be me and almost all my readers.
...i think I heard every Ranger fan rejoice after finally watching the big bodied Boyle park himself in front of the net on the power play and tipping one home. It only took the Rangers ten years to figure that strategy out.
...Arty the playmaking center (4a). I like it.
...MZA from Stepan. I can't say it enough.
...did hell freeze over? Rangers 2-for-4 on the power play and 27-for-50 on faceoffs.
...with all the scoring excitement you almost forgot Hank put up his seventh shutout of the year.
...Rangers finally catch an injury break as it looks like Eminger's wrist is fine after taking a cheap shot slash from Orr.
...i see Weise used the Aaron Voros "Use Your Face to Block Punches" strategy in his fight with Schenn. Not very effective.
...who would have thought losing Fedotenko for 2-4 weeks would be a big deal before the season started?
...i normally don't talk about the opponent, but how bad were the Maple Leafs tonight? It seemed like the Rangers were the only team on the ice at certain points.
...not sure I remember the last time both Staal and Girardi had less than 20 minutes of ice time. With the grueling up-coming schedule they'll appreciate the rest.
...the Rangers only two wins in the Heritage jerseys are both 7-0 victories. Fun fact courtesy of reader Chris H.
...right back at it tomorrow night in Carolina.
- No Dubinksy, no Callahan, no Christensen, no Prospal, no Boogaard, no Frolov...and now no Feds.
- Toronto. Yeah, they're really bad.

- Gaborik's first goal was so sick.
- Hank was really good when he had to be.
- I love hearing "out of town" announcers sweating the Rangers (anyone else watch the NHL feed?)
- How cool was it watching Avery and Gaborik talk strategy even when leading several goals to zero. Maybe they're meant to play together...Duh.
- Carolina will be a much better game all around. Rags have a history of making Cam Ward look like Fuhur/Roy/Richter/Belfour/you_name_it
"The New York Rangers (27-18-3) defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs (18-22-5) by the score of 3-2, tonight."
7-0 i think you meant to state.
One thing I forgot to mention is how important the pk was early in the game. Big kills set the tone.
soo many injuries if we can sustain untill ppl start coming back itll be like getting new players all over again ;)
I know I said earlier this week that the pucks would start to go in for Gabby but 4goals? Wow! Awin tomorrow night in Carolina would be huge as it would put distance between the Rangers and 9th place but they are running out of bodies fast. Ihope that Dupont or Kolarik can jump in and give some quality minutes and maybe score a goal or 2. Hopefully Fedsa gets back quickly and Cally is about 10 days away so if they can keep their heads above water things should improve.
