Update, 4:32 p.m.:
For the Rangers official announcement click here. Rangers are saying injury is to Fibula.
...the Rangers have been able to step up their game in the face of injuries all year, so I'm not about to jump ship on this team just yet. Should be interesting to see who they decide to call up Grachev (8g, 6a) or Williams (21g, 13a).
Pierre LeBrun at ESPN.com reports that Brandon Dubinsky is out 3-4 weeks.
Steve Zipay adds that it is a stress fracture of tibia in left leg.
Dubinsky leads the Rangers with 17 goals, 21 assists and 38 points.
...this has to be some kind of cruel joke.
Just got home and turned on the game, but no Dubi?! Maybe Dubi's simply trying to get Gabby going. All I can say is WOW! The injuries this year are mind boggling. All long-term and serious.
Assuming that Dubinsky or Callahan are future captains...any idea who we'll see step it up to take the reigns? Don't even say Drury.
on the lines, I would switch Avery and Wolski. Would like to see Avery with Stepan and Zukes. Like Wolski and Gabby together too, imo
Wolski-Stepan-Zuccarello....I like that idea. Call up Williams! Seriously Gaborik needs to step it up. If they can pull a 5th place in the East with all of these injuries the Rangers will have some kickass season.
okay, deep breath, deep breath, they have sucked it up all year when someone went down, so they'll do it again, thats the character of this years team, just sucks that the two biggest examples of that character are Dubs and Cally.
The one season we're good and we can't stay healthy. Where were these injuries the last 4 seasons??
Just gotta get through this 5 game stretch in 7 days against middle-of-the-pack eastern conference foes and we'll be okay. I'll take 2-2-1. Time to see if Gabby has what it takes to be elite.
maybe leading the league in blocked shots is not such a good thing, who knows if it is a factor in Dubs injury or not, and I'm not saying I dont love the way we play, but man, the injuries are starting to pile up. We know it (blocked shots) took out Cally and Fedetanko, is Dubs a casualty too?
Just wondering aloud. Like I said, I love the way the Rangers sell out, but are the large number of injuries too steep a price? Hopefully its just a fluke year for injuries and everyone will be back in time for a nice playoff stretch run.
Um...when did this happen? WTF already whose next - Henrik?
Next 8 games against eastern division teams too. Oh Brother....
Hope Torts can find a way to stay at 500 through the next 15 games or so. Maybe all the line juggling will work out because everyone has had a chance to play together....... i'm just sayin...
What sucks even more is that none of the guys on injuried reserve are coming back any time soon, so its not like anyone can replace him. I know Cali is supposed to come back after the all star break but what about Christensen? This sucks so much!
@_Jack Prust has stepped up all year
@KevinDeLury Contrary to popular analysis, I say maybe Gaborik can get Avery going. I'd love to see the return of Avery, circa 2008. I'm not worried about Gaborik.
Or 2007, I just looked at old stats, when he was +11 and had 20 pts in 29 games. I'd take that right now.
@KevinDeLury True, true. I do like that combo.
@serge Yeah dude, we can't catch a break anywhere (unless it's to a player's bone.)
