Del Zotto: Move to Hartford Best Thing for Me

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

delzottoIn a piece in the Hartford Courant, Paul Doyle has this quote from Michael Del Zotto on his demotion to the CT Whale (AHL)...

"I just saw it as just a chance to improve and get back to basics," Del Zotto said. "I think it's the best thing for me. Coming back here, playing around 30 minutes every night. You just have to come back here and play all situations in the game and get your confidence back. Really, get back to where I was before. . . . It's just extra motivation to work that much harder and pay more attention to detail and try to get better every single day."

Whale assistant coach J.J. Daigneault on Del Zotto's problem in NHL...

"He was taking too many chances," Daigneault said. "For him, it's just about managing his game. He's very talented and gifted, he's a good passer and he does everything well on the ice. But there's a time to do certain things on the ice."

...looks like Del Zotto has gone down to Hartford with the right attitude. With the way McD has been playing the Rangers have the luxury of keeping Del Zotto with the Whale until they feel comfortable recalling him. I still think Del Zotto will be an important piece for the Rangers this season.

This kid could be such an important part of the team once he gets it together, a true QB dman.

With the way McD has been playing the Rangers have the *LUXURY* not luggery

MDZ might not be back for a long time with the way the Rangers have been playing defensively unless he lights it up for the Whale.
