CT Whale Steals Logo
Chris over at Icethetics reports that the CT Whale stole their new logo idea from graphic designer Scott Johnson without giving him any credit.Johnson on working with the CT Whale on the new logo...
"Things went pretty well in the process at first. Lots of back-and-forth of what they wanted, lots of sketching, designs, and artwork. I thought we were going great — I did what they asked and more, and they used almost all of the work I did. The thing is, they just didn't appreciate it enough to pay for it."
Johnson adds that another artist was allowed to take credit for his work with the Whale's blessing.
...wow not only is the logo awful, we now find out it's stolen. This guy probably should have kept his mouth shut. I mean who wants to hire the guy who came up with the CT Whale logo?

Eh logo is aiight but it wasnt his idea. He was advised mostly by them, he did do the work though so he deserves it
Kevin you have been bashing this logo for awhile now. It seems a lot people like it. I honestly like it. I think the Whale looks awesome. The team name is the WHALE what else could they have done that would have been better??
@TheKing I liked a couple of the concepts the designer came up with. Just not this one. A little too "Free Willy" for me.
I think you are missing the point Kevin. This guy was doing design work, drawn to spect for a prospective client, and then they steal his work product? You think he should keep his mouth shut because you think its a lame design? Thats crazy, especially because it was the team, not the deisgner who had the most input into the final design. This guy should (and will) sue theheck out of that franchise for misappropriating his original work with his consent or any compensation.
I like the logo. I not only rock a Whalers hat but I'll probably be getting a CT Whale t-shirt and or hat in the near future.
