The New York Rangers (25-16-3) lost to the Montreal Canadiens (24-16-3) by the score of 2-1, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.

...can't win them all Rangers fans. Still enjoyed the effort, but Montreal was just better tonight. Plus Auld played like he wanted to prove Torts was wrong not to give him more starts as a Ranger last year. Man, I hate losing to a Gomez-lead team.

...haven't seen a soft goal like that from Lundqvist in a while. Ironic that it happens on the day he named to the All Star roster.

...now we know why Phoenix called the Rangers to trade Wolski. Got to bang that home. On the positive side he was much more noticeable offensively than Frolov. Although that wasn't very hard to do.

...Avery-Drury-Weise was by far the best line tonight. Which is probably why they lost.

...McD is looking more and more comfortable every game. Hope Del Zotto likes Connecticut in the winter.

...Gilroy is changing everyone's mind who wants him at wing. Sure, he's going to make some defensive mistakes but he's gaining confidence on offense with every shift. Great pass on the Dubi goal.

...how in the world does the ref miss the Subban trip on Dubi at the end of the game? Rangers are now 0-for-2 on getting slew foot calls. Horrible. Not that the Rangers would have scored on the power play.

...Dubi goal and all around effort confirms he was an All Star snub.

...man it'd be nice if Gaborik was doing something offensively. Make that anything.

...not sure what was up with Stepan tonight, but he was having issues with the puck at the point on the power play.

...off tomorrow then the Sedin twins and the Canucks are in town.

"...haven't seen a soft goal like that from Lundqvist in a while. " What soft goal would that be? That top corner shot isn't any easy one to make. Give the shooter some props for beating the D man and ripping the shot into a four inch circle at full speed.

@_Jack Agreed that it was a perfect shoot, but what is Hank doing on his knees off the post when the guy is along the boards below the faceoff circle?

Lundqvist almost always lets in a softie after a game's rest...

@ForEachNYR That's an interesting observation. I wonder if there's any corelation.

It's so frustrating when the refs miss those calls. It really should be brought to the league's attention. Besides that it IS a penalty, it's both dirty and dangerous.
Dubi was most certainly snubbed.
And we really need to work on the PP.
