The first trade actually took place last night as the Blues traded Brad Boyes to BUF for 2nd round pick in 2011. (McKenzie)
For all the trades that have already taken place, and there have been a lot, head over to TSN's trade tracker.
Interesting stat about Mitchell (from a quick look at Youtube.....thought he sounded familiar). My count was 3g, 2a in 4 games against the Rangers.
Funnier fact (I think)....we got him for the same (7th rounder) that PItt gave up for Kovalev.
Can't believe those TSN guys mentioned grit and speed in the same sentence as Higgins. Good luck to Higgins though who goes from bottom feeder to 1st place team.
YESSSSS!!! We stayed the course and didnt trade any of young guns for a concussed dude who were going to be signing this summer anyway!! Good job Glen!!! We still have a team thats going to make some noise in the playoffs, if we make it in...
John Mitchell - 23 games, 2-1-3, -7, 1 PPG
His last game was before the new year...
They better not have traded anyone good...
Careful Kevin, I bet you had the same type of comment when they got Prust...LOL You may have a John Mitchell jersey this time next year!
Im sorry but isnt trading Anisimov whos one of brightest future stars against everything sather and torts have been preaching? this isnt basketball, the NHL is not a star driven league, AA is gonna be a beast, the sky is the limit for this russian 2 way center, his offense is only going to improve more and more, the kids 22!!! how do you get rid of that? once he fills out his 6 4 frame the opposition wont be able to take the puck from the kid!!
i wouldnt even mind trading 2 first round picks and a del zotto or gilroy for richards, but not AA
im sure youre going to say but why del zotto, the sky is the limit for him too, i see serious deficiencies in his game, hes not strong in the corners, has a weak shot from the point and his skating leaves something to be desired, sure he can work on that, but his ceiling is in no way as high as AA and with the rangers having probably the best young D corp in the league i think wed be able to work around it much easier
please Sather dont trade AA!!!
Darren Dreger reporting Richards will only waive his NTC to go to one team - Rangers. Guess Joe N just spilled his coffee all over his laptop and phone.
Pierre McGuire nuts to say asking price is AA, McD and 1st rounder.
@Jrelis Got it. Thanks.
@KevinDeLury Wonder how that will impact our GAA? :)
All the same, glad we did not give up the main core. This should be a sign to the team that mgmt believes in them.
As for Richards, let;s see July 1st.
@CraiginCanada Maybe the Rangers got him so he can't score on them any more.
@KCinMN98 At least they didn't say he had good hands.
@gravey94 Ha, maybe I should put a stop order on that Prust jersey.
@KevinDeLury Me too Kev, me too
by the way just wanted to say youre doing an outstanding job today with the trade deadline soon approaching, keep it up dude!
@AdamBrett Adam, I hope you're right if Rangers keep him.
@KevinDeLury in the first few years, but that 3rd year he really broke out, i think AA will be the same, a number one center who you can put out there in any situation
@KevinDeLury i agree hes not strong on the puck the way he should be right now, but compared to last year hes a ton more strong on the puck, and next year when hes added some more muscle to his 6'4" frame hell be even stronger, and so on and so forth, his upside is limitless, can dangle with the best of them, and he has power moves to the net as youve seen in the past most recently against boston where thomas somehow got his glove on it, he has a wicked wrister, and hes a good passer with good vision, and on top of that, hes a great defensive center that torts puts out on the PK and in the last minute of a game when they have a lead
as for what hes projected for, im saying he fits the mold of a Pavel Datsyuk, look at his numbers, sure he had more assists in the first
@AdamBrett Not strong on the puck, will just be a third line center. Would hate to see the Rangers hold up a trade for Richards for AA. Although I'm sure the package include a lot more including picks and prospects which I'd be against.
What projections do you have for AA that makes him so untouchable? I think MDZ has way more upside.
@KevinDeLury well please id love to hear why youre down on AA and youd rather keep DZ over him, have you seen him in the defensive zone? id prefer a pylon to play D over him, the only thing endearing me to DZ is his outlet passes(from last year) but i really wanna know what you have against AA?
@AdamBrett I've always been a bit down on AA so I'd much rather Sather hold on to MDZ over him. Obviously, Gilroy going instead of either would be best case scenario. If the Rangers really want Richards they're going to have to give up something.
JD also traded Winchester. Surprised with many of the Blues dealings this year...but I guess one can say they have underperformed so change is necessary. Too bad Rangers weren't in on any discussions with them.
