The Rangers are averaging a rating of 0.79 (59,000 households), down from 0.89 last season.
...get ready for ticket price increases and if you're a Cablevision customer for your rates to go up. Grrrr....Dolans.
Botta adds that the Devils and Islanders ratings are down as well.
It would be ironic if Dolan jacks up ticket prices in response to this because it's most likely because of HIM that ratings are down.
Sadly, Rangers are the lone original 6 team not in the top 10 (CDN team ratings are not included). Guess that explains why Rangers haven't been invited to the Winter Classic.
Would like to understand how the ratings are calculated. Instead of just local, ratings should be expanded to include viewership on NHL CI on cable/dish/ online. There are plenty of Ranger fans outside of NYC.
How are the beer sales at the Garden? IIRC the last few losses at home I spent like $36 on four beers. haha.
Or they can make the deal with Dish Network so I don't have to go to a bar every other night to watch the game.
are these rating for MSG Network? If that's the case, maybe MSG should be offering MSG HD to more than just Cablevision subscribers. Watching the games in SD is horrible. Half the time you can't even read the name on the back of the jersey.
@JoshRisler Can't believe MSG considers the Albany area Sabres country. Awful.
@Otter87 Article didn't go into much detail, but I'm assuming it probably is just MSG Network.
