The New York Rangers (31-24-4) defeated the Los Angeles Kings (32-22-4) by the score of 4-3 in a shootout, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.
...dont't really remember much from the game (one too many) but I think the Rangers won despite Lundqvist doing his best to start another losing streak.
...those of you who don't think Christensen has a role on this team, tonight is exhibit "A" as to why he needs to be on this team
...Wolski must have some negotiation skills to get himself in the lineup tonight. Maybe Sather needs to consult with him come deadline time.
...i think Dubi purposely took that penalty in OT to keep the pp unit from completely embarrassing themselves.
...if it wasn't for the shootout I would have thought MZA was a scratch.
...i must have been drunk tonight because I think Gaborik scored a clutch goal.
...have I mentioned that Callahan needs to be the Captian asap. Nothing more impressive than shaking off a puck to the face to kill off a penalty.
...I know Anisimov had a goal and an assist tonight, but can someone get him in the weight room please.
...Sauer & McD a combined +6.
...right back at it tomorrow night at The Rock.
Weird game. Seemed like the Kings and Rangers took turns with the mo. Did Prust play? I didnt see much of him or mza.
Talk about a nailbiter. Good hard-working win with lots of har-working comebacks, and a much needed 2 points. Also congrats to Hank on the 200th win!
I want to see Dubes sitting next game. He has been taking way too many bad penalties lately and just looks like he's losing some self-control, and that has to be reined in ASAP. We can't afford to be on the PK that much, and we can't afford to have him sitting in the box that much if he's gonna be an active player. Sit him in the press box or cut WAY back on his ice time for a game, and send a message that he's got to get himself under control.
And yeah I know we're playing the Devils tonight, but I don't care. Gotta look at these things with a 10-mile view sometimes.
For that matter, put Biron in tonight and give Hank a break. Brodeur is out on injury so that personal rivalry won't factor in, and Hank's obviously struggling.
I agree that Cally should be made captain. Maybe the reason they haven't yet is because it's the only way to justify keeping Drury on the team? I mean, have they really missed him this season in all honesty? It's the younger ones - Cally, Dubi, Staal, Giradi, etc. - that have really stepped up this season and shown what it means to be a Ranger every single game.
I can't believe how much the Rangers are getting out of Derek Stepan. The work he did in front of the net to get that to Callahan was absolutly dynamite. He's gonna be a great Ranger for hopefully a very long time.
Really great game tonight, there seemed to be alot of excitement at the garden! The win would have felt even better had we beaten one of the games hottest and best goalies, Quick, but even so beating a good team is beating a good team. And even without quick and the last game without Malkin&Crosby, the rangers have beaten two good teams in a row.
@CinciMike I think Prust is hurting right now. Lots of injuries due to taking on enforcers much bigger than him.
@erichan I don't think benching our top goal scorer when the entire team is struggling to score is the answer. Maybe he does need a talking to about the amount of time he is spending in the box, but given he's been one of our stand-out players this season, benching is a little extreme.
