Update, 12:56 p.m.:
Chris Drury placed on IR not Long Term IR. The other day Cap Geek reported that putting Drury on LTIR would not open up any cap space for the Rangers at the deadline.
Update, 12:22 p.m.:
As expected the lines will remain the same tonight in Atlanta.
Steve Zipay tweets that Steve Eminger will sit out his fifth straight game, while Henrik Lundqvist will be back between the pipes after sitting out two games.
...i guess this means the Rangers ARE committed to the development of MDZ in the NHL. That is until they trade for Kaberle. ;)
Jesse Spector also reports that Dan Girardi, riding the stationary bike, was the only defenseman not on the ice during this morning's practice.
While Gaborik, Prust, Avery and Wolski were the forwards missing.
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I get the sense that Del Zotto is in there to showcase him for trade bait. Seems like he's become a bit expendable with the young D at the NHL level, as well as those in Hartford. If they get a PP QB and/or top line center with a Del Zotto centerpiece trade, I think they would do it. Hopefully I'm wrong though, I like the kid!
I know that Eminger isn't the reason, but they haven't won a game since he began sitting out so I might just consider playing him again to see if they can win one.
Not sure. He played with some serious grit. In almost all replays you'd see him cross checking and throwing the body around. Hopefully they can work him in somehow...
Anyone know what's up with Eminger and why he's become odd man out (other than developing MDZ...commitment to youth...etc.).
@gravey94 Rangers have been talking too much about developing MDZ, but hey you never know. Would also make not drafting Fowler look even worse.
@KCinMN98 Torts had said he thought Eminger was fighting it, which initially got him out of the lineup. Now that Torts saying they want to develop MDZ in the NHL may be hard to get Eminger back in there.
