The New York Rangers (29-21-4) lost to the New Jersey Devils (18-30-3) by the score of 3-2, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.

...another game another 20 minute effort. Not sure what's going on with this team lately but they aren't coming ready to play and it looks like the comebacks have finally run out.

...all the players coming back from injury might actually be a negative as everyone is trying to feel each other out and figure out their new roles.

...i think Hank was out too late with Bieber last night. Not exactly the goaltending matchup we're used to as both goalies seemed to struggle in this one. With Montreal being Hank's "House of Horrors" I fully expect Biron on Saturday.

...seriously what is wrong with the power play?

...seriously what is wrong with the faceoffs?

...Torts, please put Avery back with Gaborik. Avery-Prospal-Gaborik. Done.

...i think Del Zotto punched his ticket back to the Whale with his pp giveaway and consequent penalty.

...that camera angle on the final play messed with my eyes the same way it did for Micheletti. I was certain it went in.

...forgot how much I missed Prospal's emotion. It's infectious.

...have I mentioned it's great to have Cally back.

...another game another missed wide open net.

...Drury = Done.

...Girardi has had a tough time since his return from injury. Concerned he might still be hurt.

...Rangers head to Montreal for afternoon game on Saturday.

Lately the team is reverting back to the style of last year with a 20 minute effort. That being said I think they have a better chance of pulling out of that funk tis year. For some reason they repsond better when they are being pushed.

I think MDZ has an incredible upside but more time in Coneeticut will help him learn the defense game a bit better. I also worry about the confidence factor right now where one mistake can mean a lot. Must say I was surprised Torts brought him back out almost immediately after the penalty. I thjink that was related to hoping to boost his confidence.

Drury not travelling with the team to Montreal....EC is back in. Team says it is because of a knee problem that Drury has. Either way, good move. EC really has to show 60 minutes as well or he could be in the pres box very soon.

How can you not like Vinny....great passing, great skill, great emotion.

Like what Torts said about Cally being what we all strive to be as a Ranger. Can we please just give him the "C" now?

Finally, yes please put Avery on with Gabby and Vinny. Cannot understand how he keeps getting bumped from Gabby's line.

I'm surprised Gaborik didn't even swing at the puck after it hit the post on that last shot. Watching the replay now, he definitely had a chance to put it in, but instead started celebrating. I know it's easy for me to say that when I watch now, but it seems to me that if the puck is not sitting in the back of the net, it's not alright to stop playing.

@SirKengin Looked like he thought it went in and was celebrating. I was saying to Nick over at the Rangers Tribune on Twitter today that if it was last year he would have had his stick down and had a layup.

although ive been promoting it since the summer, don't think a midseason trade for Richards is viable right now given the Stars position atop the Pacific, and the fact that they look for real.

One thing they can do in-house to bolster the center position is play a healthy Christensen over a waste of space Drury. Maybe if Drury were batting 80% in the faceoff dot, could take more than two strides without gliding, and didn't turn the puck over almost 100% of the time he touches it, then he'd be worth not benching.

I was at the Pens game and this game. This game was practically a snoozefesst. The shot cout was awful. Almost zero passion — where was the NJ vs. NY rivalry aspect? Where was the protagonist vs. antagonist?

MZA as the PP point man was great. His passes are bananas.

Prospal looked ok, at the very least very ok. Gaborik needs to step up. At some point you need to live up to your name/game...the last half of the season is iit.

Again, MDZ....meh...he had his chances on the PP point with MZA and it was pretty much whatever. I'd trade is potential for Richards. When it counted Staal was mated with MZA on the PP point.

The timing of the Avery/Clarkson fight was off by a few mins otherwise it could have been a tide-swinger.

The Garden Faithful was SO ANGRY about the last five seconds of the third period. It really looked like that went in before the buzzer — obviously it crossed the goal line.

I just wish that MSG would replay "controversial" plays. Worst f'in arena when it comes to educating their fans.

Where was Drury arguing that last goal? At least fight or questing the timing.... sacrifice Drury.

@_Jack The snooze fest that we saw was vintage Jacques LeMaire hockey. If you get behind the Devils by 2 or 3 goals, thats the game you are going to see. It was that way for all his tenure in Jersey as well as his MO in Minnesota.
As for that last shot, We had the perfect angle to see it from 417 in the blues and could see plainly that it hit the post but did'nt go in.

@_Jack replay clearly showed it went of the post, despite Micheletti's standard incorrect observation that it crossed

1) avery prospal gabbi needs to happen
2) powerplay is atrocious
3) how many open nets can the rangers miss?
4) That last shot on goal was a summary of the whole night-decent chances no reseults (given there werent that many chances but the chances we had needed to be buried) I counted 4 timesincluding Dubi's pipe hit and the last shot that should have when in when marty was down and out.
5)they need to start winning games, BADLY

sending MDZ down accomplishes nothing. so 1 giveaway and 1 penalty is all he gets. then send down girardi who has played like crap for 2 games a,d send down gaborik for being aq woosie who is scared to shoot from the 1/2 board on the PP and comes up small all the damn time.

or send down dubi for at least 5 giveaways in the neutral zone on mainly lazy or soft passes. btw callahan and dubi missed 2 give me goals the last 2 games.

henrik should spend more time at home and less time out on the town, he has sucked for a week straight.. the florida fiaso if you forget, that was a 2 point gift.

@Fleisch14 @StuartAdelsberg Torts has said he's playing scared. Would rather see him go down to the Whale relax, have a little fun and figure things out. I think keeping him up will actually mess wiht his head even more.

@KevinDeLury @StuartAdelsberg I wouldnt send him down...he made one mistake, had to take penalty...as far as the Pitt game, i think think the rebound given up by hank threw off MDZ, again 50/50 as far as fault goes.... at the start of the season these are the guys we wanted playing with Eminger coming in every so often for injury and a breathier...keep the kid up, and stop messing with his head!!!

@StuartAdelsberg Del Zotto's issues are much bigger than tonight. He has to learn how to play defense because right now he's struggling. Sending him down will actually accomplish a lot as he learns the position instead of playing scared in the NHL.
