Rangers in the Mix for Hemsky

Written by Kevin DeLury on .

hemskyJim Matheson at the Edmonton Journal says that the Rangers are one of a handful of teams that are in the mix for the Oilers' Ales Hemsky.

Hemsky who has struggled offensively this year has just 3g, 8a on the season. Hemsky's career high is 23g during the 2008-09 season.

Hemsky is in the final year of his contract that pays him $4.1 million this season.

...the Rangers are already dealing with one $4 million winger who's struggling to score, why would they want another one? Unless of course they trade Dubinsky for Hemsky. Although, I think I've heard Dubinsky for Hemsky since the Ranger wingers rookie season.

Keep Dubi. He doesn't need to score goals to be effective. And he will shake this slump.

Wolski, Zherdev, Frolov, Lisin, Sjostrom, Higgins, Gomez, Drury.

All highly regarded forwards that never made it her in recent years.

If it came down to Hemsky over Dubinsky I think I'd rather keep Dubinsky since he does throw his body in front of pucks and hits people.

@Beckfan5 agreed. hemsky isnt strong enough in the corners, is injury prone, doesnt take the shot even when its on a silver platter, has never lived up to his reputation and to boot is always the first guy off of the ice at practice? sounds like a perfect recipe for the tortorella dog house.

PASS.
