The New York Rangers (19-8-4) defeated the New Jersey Devils (18-14-1) by the score of 4-1, tonight. For a boxscore and recap go to Yahoo! Sports.

...we might have had to wait until December for Rangers/Devils but it was worth it. Fights, hits, big saves and highlight reel goals. Oh yeah, and a Rangers win.

...with the way Lundqvist plays when matched up against Brodeur, you have to wonder if the Devils would be better off going with Hedberg against the Rangers.

...it's absolutely miraculous what this defensive corps has been able to do despite seemingly losing a defenseman every game. I know the Devils are far from being an offensive juggernaut, but if you can hold a team with Kovalchuk, Parise and Zajac to just one goal you must be doing something right.

...congrats on point 600 for Gaborik who's as locked in as he's ever been as a member of the Blueshirts.

...Hagelin is at least one step faster than everyone on the ice. Needs to work on his celebration though. He almost killed himself.

...love watching two young players like Stepan and Anisimov developing into top players in the NHL.

...Rupp proves his worth three seconds into the game. Not for giving the team a spark with his fight, but for making sure Prust didn't have to.

...while Girardi may not get voted into the All Star game if he's not a coach's pick there should be an investigation.

...if the Rangers continue to generate this much energy it's going to be impossible for me to complain about Avery not being in the line-up.

...thought tonight was Dubinsky's best game of the season as he looked real confident with the puck. Although, he somehow didn't register a shot on goal.

...with the way it's been going for Rangers defensemen, was anyone else convinced Erixon sustained a serious injury in third period?

...real solid game for Bickel, who Torts seemed to grow confidence in as the game wore on. Real impressed with him jumping Clarkson after the hit on Hagelin.

...i don't care how many Time Warner smear ads MSG runs, I still think it's the Dolans fault.

...off tomorrow then Islanders at MSG on Thursday night.

BTW, if Erixon is hurt do they dare call up the $6.5 million man?

Or do they dress his dad instead?

Lundqvist is a friggn beast. He kept his team in it until they finally got something going late in the 2nd.

I dont know why Tortorella continues to roll 2 1/2 lines a game. Especially with 4 consecutive games against division rivals.

Del Zotto's defensive game has come along quite well. But his offensive game still has a lot of work to be done. He's a long way away from Sanguinetti. Oh, wait....

And with that being said, I think that the best and smartest offensive defenseman on the team right now is McDonagh.

I loved Hagelin's decisiveness on that goal. Looked like he came down the wing with a world of confidence.

Speaking of confidence, Dubinsky blows. He skated into the Devils zone with the puck and lost it because he wasn't sure what to do with it. And what is up with that move where he skates behind the opponents net, comes around to the goal line, spins and fires the puck in front of the crease and back to the other corner.

The guy is on his kiester more than he is on his skates most of the time.

With the win, I'd still rather have Avery in there over Prust, Rupp, Mitchell and Dubinsky.

Dolan is a douchebag piece of s#!t!!

@Beckfan5 Hank is a beast. And it is fun to watch the decline of 'ole Fatty McFattigans on the other end. McD has a high ceiling.

Can't argue with the Dolan comments, or what Kevin wrote about the Dolan's culpability in the Time Warner thing. In all these cable provider disputes, the one constant has been the Dolans

And I'm only putting girardi on 2nd pairing to give him some rest 29min average can take a toll on a player

@Volcom955 You have to wonder if he's going to eventually break down with all these minutes.

Is there any doubt that Hagelin is an NHL player? He won't be seeing the AHL any time soon/ever. He skates like a madman, but then can slow it down and snipe, as evidenced on that SH goal.

The biggest thing that will hold the Devils back this year is Marty B.

I was wrong about MDZ. He is turning into a very servicable D-man.

We are FINALLY, as Ranger fans, seeing the benefit of drafting, developing and maintaining a strong farm system. They have been succesful despite key injuries mainly because they have a wealth of talent in the minors to call upon. Awesome stuff. This is a franchise that will be healthy for a long time.

@AnnoyingJoe agreed, we are looking very deep in the D, so deep we could get a little trade going, Bell, Tank, Bickell for a winger?

@skev303 idk...The D's been good, especially when you consider the current lineup vs. what was expected to be the lineup going inot the year. A winger would be great, but with Staal's status up in the air and the relative inexperience of the D...If anything, I think a trade for an upper level Dman would be more useful for a long run in the playoffs.
