The channel numbers will vary depending on your location. Look for MSG HD on FiOS TV channel 577, 578 or 579, and MSG+ HD on 579, 580 or 581."

That's great but what about us poor dish net customers that don't get any local games. Being a die hard rangers fan with dish has been the worst move I made in a long time. Any good news you cangive us on

I'm a U-verse subscriber in CT and I'm really getting the shaft. I switched from Comcast initially for the wider HD channel selection (including NHL Network, which was not offered in HD by Comcast at the time of the switch). Right before the season started U-verse yanked NHL Network out of thier program lineup and I haven't heard a damned thing about it since. Even the new publsihed channel lineups don't list NHL Netowrk at all. So not only can I not watch the Rangers in HD, I can't watch Rangers highlights in HD.

quite pumped, but I'm sure we in Albany will still get stuck with Buffalo games instead of Ranger games and Devils games when it's Rangers vs. Islanders and whatever other horrible option they can force on us...

@thenyrblog Li Mac is correct. I also have MSG HD on channel 578. Great news. Thanks for passing the info.

A friend of mine's already got the HD feeds - praying mine come in for tonight's game! So psyched!

What a joke that Dolan would fight so hard to keep this from his customers

@AnnoyingJoe Honestly, it was a pretty smart business decision. Do you know how many Cablevision customers are in the same boat as me and wouldn't leave for Verizon b/c we can't stand watching our team in non-HD. I could never watch hockey again in standard def, I'd rather blow my brains out

@PuckCentral It wasn't a smart business decision. He lost, is being forced to provide the service anyway, alienated a large group of people, and shined a bright light on how much better Fios is than cablevision. A smart business decision would have been to take the $ he spent on legal fees and use it to upgrade his crappy, outdated service and stop telling us we're better off b/c we have News12. You know, actually compete with Fios so customers like us wouldn't leave.

Any-hoo, I'm glad you won't have to blow your brains out.

I'm considering switching from Cablevision myself. I can lock in now for around $100 per month (I'm just afraid b/c Verizon always known to add crazy fees). Their channel selection and quality is much better than Verizon, not much holding me back now

@PuckCentral i don't understand the whole fees issue that people have with Verizon - I've had FiOS for a year and a half and have paid exactly the same price every single month, and exactly what I expected when I signed up. We used to have both Dish and Cablevision and both were awful, but FiOS has been great.

@erichan Thanks for the response. I've had several family members & friends in past few yrs tell me about grislly fluctuating prices. Maybe Verizon has finally fixed that. I'd consider making the jump if I knew the price for 2 yrs would be less than the $130 or so per month I pay Cablevision for the Triple play (I don't even plug a damn phone into my land line, what a joke that promo is)

@PuckCentral @erichan Ha! we never use the house phone. I'd switch to Fios in a second, but they havent put the lines out this far east yet
