Morning Skate Notes: Biron, Woywitka In; Erixon Out; Bickel Eye Watch (Updated)

Update, 12:36 p.m.:
The Rangers say Erixon will be sent back to the Whale if all six defenseman come out of tonight's game healthy.

Original Post:
The Rangers have announced that Marty Biron will start in goal in Washington tonight and Jeff Woywitka will return to the line-up after missing the last four games with a foot injury.

...while Washington has struggled this season, I've got to admit I'm shocked to see Biron in there tonight. Guess Torts wasn't kidding when he said Hank and Biron were 1 and 1a.

Pat Leonard says Tim Erixon will come out of the line-up for Woywitka but will stay with the team during the road trip just in case.

I'm with you on the Biron statement. Although I have faith in Marty I'd rather have the added confidence with Lundqvist in goal. Especially having the 2 point lead in the standings.

Hey Kevin, I'am suprised at your comment about being shocked about Biron starting tonight. As a Rangers fan you see how well Biron Have performed this season. Look at his stats and you cen see that he is clearly deserves to play more that just a few token games. The more he plays the more rest the king gets and the sharper Biron will be. I for one am not at all suprised. While admittedly I'am not a fan of Tortorella, I think he is doing the wright thing buy giving Lundquist as much rest as possible. It will pay off in the playoffs. (playoff!you talk about playoff? lol.)

@scrangersfan I'm not upset about the decision, it's just a game I didn't have pegged for Biron to start. I agree with all your points.

To be honest, The king usually plays more then 2 games in a roll before Biron gets a chance. I do see your logic Kevin..
