Other players who are participating include Steven Stamkos, Stephen Weiss, Jeff Skinner, Mike Cammalleri, Tyler Seguin, PK Subban and Paul Bissonnette. Former Rangers prospect Ethan Werek is also in attendance.
Earlier this summer Wolski trained with Barbara Underhill and hockey guru Jari Byrski.
Here's video of Wolski at BioSteel camp courtesy of TheNYRBlog reader @jordanschoem...
...have I mentioned that Wolski is going to fit perfectly on a line with Richards and Gaborik? Really impressed with his commitment this summer.
Looks like Steve Zipay at Blue Notes likes Wolski on the top line also.
whats not to like about him ???? he's young 25 ... is probably the 3rd most talented player on our team ... which we are lacking talent ... and if he is putting in the work usually hard work pays off i hope your comments come back and bite you in the A$$
Kevin, I seem to remember you not really wanting Wolski to stick around. I happen to still like him, and I think all the training he's done is going to pay off in a big way. Its how Stamkos broke through. Also, Gary Roberts is a notorious health nut, so expect Wolski to come to camp in great shape, same with Del Zotto, who has also been hitting the gym. I expect both to be big contributors to his season.
@EvanSzymkowicz I've been saying all summer that I wanted Rangers to keep him. He is maddeningly inconsistent but the guy's got talent. If the Rangers demote him or trade him who are you replacing him with?
@EvanSzymkowicz Stamkos didnt break through because of his training with Roberts. He broke through because hes an elite-level player. DelZotto has been training with Stamkos since they were kids... yet one has broken out and the other has only regressed. What makes you think this year will be any different?
Also... call me a skeptic, but "I'll believe it when I see it" for Wolski. Wolski has had how many years to put it all together and just cant do it? Theres a reason players like him and Erik Christensen have a hard time sticking with teams and/or roster spots. One summer of well-advertised training regiment doesnt change a thing unless you can consistently show what youve got during the regular season.
@Chris_in_MA Now you're just being ridiculous.
Its not like Wolski is one of those guys who brings 'the intangibles' to the ice and you have to truly think about their value off the score sheet. Hes one-dimensional and if hes not putting the points on the score sheet consistently, then he should be replaced.
Im not saying "Cut him right now"... give him a shot in camp and a couple weeks into the season. Just give him a short leash. And when, uhh... if... he doesnt get it done, cut the cord.
